Home to a combination of rich history and recent modern development, Hargeisa is the first stop of my trip as listed earlier in the vacation itinerary. Hargeisa is the capital city of Somaliland and the youngest, fastest growing capital city in Africa with over a million inhabitants. I have decided to start my trip off here because it makes the most geographical sense to go from Hargeisa in the western part of the Horn of Africa to the south where Mogadishu resides.
Unfortunately, we do not have any immediate family members to stay with in the city so we will be staying at the Ambassador Hotel, ranked as the best hotel in Somalia with a 4 star rating. On a positive note, a cab will not be required as the Ambassador hotel is only a 5 minute walk from Hargeisa International Airport.
